Some insurers are now installing small devices (like Progressive's TripSense program) in a policy holder's vehicle. These electronic monitoring units track the speed, time of travel, and mileage of the car. The program is voluntary and (if you can deal with the invasion of privacy), significant discounts are possible. But you must drive safely and within the speed limit.
If you're a good driver, you could receive a nice discount. But if you have a need for speed, high mileage, short braking and taking corners, you could pay more when the carrier analyzes your driving.
The chip also contains a locator in case your vehicle is stolen. This alone can lower the theft portion of your premium.

"I found out our car insurance carrier charged us an annual *membership* fee and used the funds for political purposes we didn't agree with. None of your carriers charged any "fee" and we got a better deal!"
- Tom M., Northern VA
"We used your site to get several rates from competing companies. We saved money and already used the road support coverage. Very efficient, thanks." - Mickey Rosenstein, Washington State
